Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about PrawnMage.
Getting Started
PrawnMage is a community-driven database for adult games. Unlike traditional databases maintained by a small team, all game information on PrawnMage is contributed and verified by the community through a consensus system.
You can sign up using Google or Discord OAuth. Click the "Login" button in the header and choose your preferred sign-in method. No email verification is required for OAuth sign-ups.
Yes, PrawnMage is completely free. There are no premium tiers, subscriptions, or paywalls. The platform is sustained by the community.
Contributing
Navigate to "Submit Game" in the header. Enter the game name and any aliases (alternative names). The system will check for duplicates before submission. New submissions may go through a review process.
When you contribute information about a game (tags, release dates, etc.), your contribution is combined with other users' contributions to form a community consensus. You earn Boost Points for contributing.
Attributes are the various pieces of information about a game: tags (content tags, themes), platforms, engine, release status, etc. Each attribute type has its own input method (boolean, selection, date, etc.).
On any game page, you can submit resources like official websites, download links, Patreon pages, etc. Resources are categorized and community-verified through voting. Links from trusted domains appear more prominently.
Points & Influence
Boost Points are earned by contributing to the database. You can allocate your points to "boost" games you want to promote. Boosted games appear higher in trending and search results. Your boost power is distributed across all games you're boosting.
Points may gradually decrease during extended periods of inactivity. This keeps the boost economy healthy by ensuring active contributors have the most influence.
Library & Rankings
Use the personal state buttons on any game page to mark it as Wishlist, Backlog, Playing, Beaten, or other states. These games appear in your Library organized by state.
You can create a personal ranking of games in your Rankings page. Drag games to reorder them. Games are automatically assigned tiers (S/A/B/C/D) based on position. Once you have ranked enough games, your rankings contribute to the site-wide average rating.
"Liked" is a simple binary preference used for quick reactions. Rankings are ordered lists that contribute to the site's rating system. You can like a game without ranking it, and vice versa.
Search & Discovery
Search is fast and typo-tolerant. You can search by game name, aliases, and filter by any attribute (tags, platform, status, etc.).
Trending shows games sorted by their boost score, which reflects how many active contributors are boosting each game. It's a community-driven way to surface popular and noteworthy games.
Yes. In your Preferences, you can blacklist specific tags to filter them from search results. You can also control how thumbnails are displayed (full, blurred, or hidden).
Community & Moderation
Community members can flag inappropriate content and duplicates. Moderators review flags and take action. The consensus system naturally filters out inaccurate contributions as more users provide correct information.
Nothing punitive for honest mistakes. The consensus system will correct inaccuracies as other users contribute. However, deliberate spam or malicious contributions may result in reduced standing.
Use the flag button on game pages to report duplicates or issues. For account or platform issues, contact the moderation team through the admin channels.
